Slovenia - An active holiday in Slovenian nature
Slovenia is an ideal destination for families who love nature and landscapes and who are looking for an active vacation in nature. Not to be missed: Lake Bled is a small and beautiful lake in the northwest of the country, in the Julian Alps region. It is the main attraction of Slovenia.
In the lake you can bathe and sail in paddle boats and around it you can walk and bike. Near the lake is the resort town of Bled, which has many hotels and restaurants. From Bled you can go to other natural sites in the area, such as the Wintger Canyon, where a charming hiking trail on wooden bridges amidst lush vegetation and waterfalls. From Bled you can also reach the Triglav Reserve and Lake Bohinj, which also have plenty of hiking trails at different levels and a variety of challenging activities.
Slovenia also has many impressive stalactite caves, the most famous of which are in the southwest of the country: the Scotchian Caves where you can sail an underground river and the Postona Caves which can be reached by underground train. You can reach the Postona Caves as part of a day trip from Bled and there are also organized trips to the place.

Tip: You should plan most of your stay in the Lake Bled area, and in case you reach more than a few days, you can split the stay into two places.
